of the art facility is open Monday through Friday 2:30pm - 8:00pm; and Saturdays
we are open 1:00pm - 8:00pm.

Your annual registration fee of $18.00 allows you access
to this splendid facility. All the activities are geared towards
skill development. Table games, field games, dance classes, physical
fitness programs, contests, field trips, you find it all here. An
equipment fee may be charged during special activities.
Youth Services on
Fort Sill does have an active sponsorship program. Military youth
coming to the Fort Sill area are encouraged to request a sponsor by contacting
the local Army Community Service (ACS)Center, Youth Center, or the Lawton Public
Schools.
Our sponsors are volunteer youth trained in the
sponsorship/ambassadorship program and are ready to inform you about all the
opportunities in the Lawton/Fort Sill areas.
SKIES UNLIMITED
PROGRAM. This is an instructional program strategically designed to
support growth in every aspect of the lives of our Army Youth. This
instructional program consists of four basic areas:
**Arts, Recreation,
and Leisure
** Life Skills, Citizenship, and Leadership
** Sports,
Fitness, and Health
** Academic Skills, Mentoring, and
Intervention

Teen employment:
Teens must process through the
Civilian Personnel Office, 1721 Gruber Road, phone (580) 442-3257 or DSN
639-3257. There are a few jobs available each summer for students age
16 or older through the Summer Hire Program.
Youth Services conducts Red
Cross babysitting classes for youths ages 11 through 18. Teens who
wish to be on the babysitting referral list must have completed a recognized
babysitting course and be currently certified in Adult CPR, Infant/Child CPR,
and First Aid, and must be at least 13 years old.
Youths 15 years and
above interested in becoming lifeguards on the installation must attend the
"Lifeguard Today" class provided by the American Red Cross, (580)
353-0275. Classes are offered in January or February each year. The
class is 36 hours and costs approximately $85.
Volunteer opportunities
are available for teenagers with the American Red Cross on Fort Sill, (580)
355-8620.

Driver's License Information
Drivers
Education classes are given in the local high schools. A student does
not have to have a beginner's permit before enrolling in the class. A
student can take a test to obtain a beginner's permit at the age of 15
1/2. In order to get a beginner's permit, a written test and eye test
must be passed. Driver's licenses (and beginner's permits) cost $19
and are good for a period of 4 years. When a student has a beginner's
permit, a licensed driver must be in the front passenger seat of the car when
the student is driving. Liability insurance is required by state
law. The minimum coverage is $10,000 for bodily injury, $20,000
maximum for any one accident, and $10,000 for property damage.
