Fort Sill's Directorate of Morale, Welfare, Recreation (MWR), and Family Programs, offers many activities.  There is always something to do, and special events are scheduled throughout the year.  Our mission is taking care of service members and their families. We're committed to making your stay here the best experience that you will have in and around the Army.


MWR RECREATIONAL ACTIVITIES:

RECPLEX: ARCADE AND CYBER CAFE - This activity is located in building 2502, in Sheridan Road, accross from the Car Wash and on the north side of the Car Sales Lot .  Large screen surround sound TVs, watch free movies and enjoy free popcorn; Party rooms, and meeting rooms are available by reservation.
ARCADE:  Monday - Friday: 7:30am-8pm
         Saturday, Sunday, and Holidays: 11am-8pm

INFORMATION, TICKETS & RECREATION (ITR)OFFICE:  Our Fort Sill ITR Office, located inside the PX, in Macomb Road, offers a variety of discount tickets on everything from upcoming concerts to attractions! ITR also offers tickets for professional sporting events such as the Football, Baseball, Basketball, Rodeos, car races and many more events in the area or out of state. Check our military discount tickets to out-of-state attractions, as well as discounts for lodging in locations throughout the United States.  Stop by for the latest at our local ITR Office!  Winter Hours: November through April: Monday-Friday: 10am - 6pm, Closed Saturday, Sunday, and Holidays.
Summer Hours: May - October: Monday-Friday: 10am - 6pm, Saturday: 9am - 3pm, Closed Sunday and Holidays.


FORT SILL GOLF COURSE -- The Fort Sill Golf Course located in 1275 Quinnette Road, is undergoing total renovation and it will soon be a state of the art Golf Course, which will include a clubhouse and a pro shop. Year round golf is available at one of the lowest rates in the area.  Tournaments are held frequently and a handicapping service is available at the pro shop.  Private and group lessons are available at the driving range and the pro shop provides expert sales assistance offering a full line of clubs and accessories for those wishing to buy or rent.    

CEDAR LAKES GOLF COURSE -- Year round golf is available at one of the lowest rates in the area.  Tournaments are held frequently and a handicapping service is available at the pro shop.  Private and group lessons are available at the driving range and the pro shop provides expert sales assistance offering a full line of clubs and accessories for those wishing to buy or rent.

TWING OAKS BOWLING CENTER --  Our Twin Oaks Bowling Center, located in 935 Macomb Road, is the premier bowling center in the Fort Sill/Lawton area. We far outpace our competitors with innovative programming, event solutions and customer service.  The bowling center staff excel in serving customers with attention to detail and a personal touch.  The Twin Oaks Bowling Center at Fort Sill is a state of the art facility encompassing 36 synthetic lanes and scoring systems.  The interior decor includes tables, chairs and dining seating that demonstrates our commitment to excellence and customer satisfaction.  Nowhere in the Lawton area will you find a more comprehensive and professional bowling experience.  To add even more fun to a night of bowling, come out for the Saturday COSMIC LIGHT show, and bowl under cosmic lights from 8pm - midnight.  The Twin Oaks Bowling Center is equipped with the area's largest bowling supply "Pro Shop" -- sporting every type of bowling product, service and supply necessary for the avid bowler -- from novice to professional, we have it all!  The A&W fast food and snack bar is great too!  Hours of operation: Monday - Wednesday: 11am - 10pm, Thursday: 9am - 10pm, Saturday: 9am - 1am, and Sunday and Holidays: Noon - 8pm.  Phone: 442-2882

MWR Annual Concert -- The Fort Sill MWR concert series has featured nationally recognized entertainers from a variety of music formats. In the country and western music we've hosted Willie Nelson, Reba McEntire, Trisha Yearwood, Tim McGraw, Alabama and Lonestar, Rock concerts have featured newer groups such as Tonic as well as classic rock performers including Ted Nugent, REO Speedwagon, Night Ranger, the Edgar Winters Band and the Outfield. In the R&B field, Fort Sill has hosted such bands as The O'Jays, Silk and Destiny's Child. The concert is offered every year on the 4th of July.


OUTDOOR ADVENTURE CENTER --The Outdoor Adventure Center is located in Building 2502 on Sheridan Road, accross from the Car Wash, and on the north-west of the Car Sales Lot.  Lots of outdoor recreational equipment for rent;  Jet skis, campers, boats, Canoes, tents, fishing poles, camping gear, water skis, moon bounce, grills, tables and chairs, horseshoes, volleyballs, dunk tanks, concession trailers and more.  Hours of operations: Monday - Friday: 9am - 4pm

LAKE ELMER THOMAS RECREATION AREA (LETRA)--LAKE ELMER THOMAS RECREATION AREA (LETRA) Get out your beachwear and your sun block and plan on taking your family to Lake Elmer Thomas Recreation Area this summer season.

The entry fee at LETRA is $4 per vehicle for authorized users and $5 for all others. A family season pass can be purchased for $40 for MWR patrons and $45 for the public.

Admission to the park includes use of the beach area, playgrounds, hiking trails and the double flume water slide.  The lake itself is stocked with fish waiting for anglers to try their luck.

LETRA also features a miniature golf course, 62 RV campsites with full service hookups, a restaurant grille, a convenience store with bait shop, a multipurpose lodge for special events and much more.

Season passes for LETRA are on sale now at the RecPlex, on Sheridan Road, at the ITR Office, located at the PX, and at LETRA. For more information call 442-5541.

Stress Release Walk -- This is an annual event hosted by Army Community Service (ACS).  The stress release walk consists of a 3-mile walk around the 3 miles walk tracks in the Cedar Lakes Golf Course area.  Begin the warm weather season with a good walk to release stress and envigorate your spirits! The stress release walk is usually offered in a week-day during the first week of the Spring season.

NYE LIBRARY

Nye Library has over 85,000 volumes of fiction, non-fiction and research materials - and an extensive information service program that includes Internet/e-mail access computers, computer games, audio cassettes, DVD, and CD-ROM resources. The library's services are provided free of charge. Nye Library also offers meeting rooms available to be reserved one for your group.
The library also offers children's activities which include story hours, play groups and our famous Summer Reading Program. In addition, Nye Library provides many opportunities for volunteers.

AUTOCRAFT CENTER

     33 Work Bays -- Our Autocraft Center offers 33 work bays, with affordable fees.  Whether you need to rebuild an engine, change tires, do an oil change, work on your motorcycle, or touch up your car with a little body work and paint, you can do it here and have a certified instructor for any questions or assistance.
Hours of Operation:  Wed-Fri 1300-2030; Sat-Sun 0900-1630; Closed Mon, Tue, and Holidays.

     Used Car Sales Facility -- Our Used Car Sales Facility located in the corner of Miner Road and Sheridan Road, may have just the car you're looking for! If you're interested in selling your vehicle and looking for a great place to show it, this is it!  Permits to place your auto in this parking area can be obtained at the Autocraft Center, building 2503, Phone 580-442-5152.

     CAR WASH: Open 24-hours, is located in building 2445 sheridan Road.

      
SWIMMING POOLS -- The outdoor swimming pools are open from Memorial Day until Labor Day.  Ever wanted to have a party for just you and your friends?  Now it is possible.  Holidays you ask?  Yes, the indoor and outdoor pools are open on holidays and training holidays, look for announced schedules, and ongoing activities for all. Also check out our 25m indoor swimming pool located in the Rinehart Fitness Center.

FITNESS CENTERS --Fitness centers are our most popular MWR service allowing you to work out seven days a week in either our 60,000 square foot, $6 million Rinehart Fitness Center, or at two of our other fitness centers - Goldner or Honeycutt Gyms. Rinehart includes a Nautilus room, an electronic circuit room, three cardio areas with Life Cycles, stair-steppers and treadmills, 6 racquetball courts, locker rooms, saunas and an indoor 25-meter swimming pool. All fitness centers are open free of charge to valid ID-card holders.

     RINEHART FITNESS CENTER --Building 2730 Bragg Road, Phone: 442-6652.  Three Cardio Fitness Areas with Life Cycles, Stair Steppers, and Treadmills; Electronic Circuit Room, Siz Racketball courts, Locker rooms, and Saunas.  Let's not forget our 25m indoor swimming pool.

CLUBS/CATERING -- There are three clubs on post that provide outstanding food, beverage and entertainment services, catering for unit parties and great places to relax with your friends.

     The Observation Post/Scoreboard Lounge:  is a lounge right inside the high-rise Lodging facility, building 5676, phone: 580-442-6958
     The Impact Zone and Micro Brewery: 23 Premium drat beer on tap, and micro brewery beer to take home.  Visit the Godsfather's Pizza, and Vig Vinny's Sub fast food shops inside the club.  Located at 3265 Crane Road,

CATERING SPECIAL EVENTS -- Catering office is located at the Patriot Club, 500 Upton Road, phone: 442-5300. Set up your catering service and room reservations at the Gunners'Inn, Patriot Club, or Polo Club.

BETTER OPPORTUNITIES FOR SINGLE SOLDIERS (BOSS): Are you a single Soldier, or married but geographically separated from your family?  The BOSS program is just what you need.
Located at building 4700 (north entrance) in Mow-Way Road, this program is totally designed to ensure that plenty of activities on post are geared towards single, or geographical bachelor Soldiers.  Get involved with BOSS, learn, exchange ideas, and participate in the numerous activities offered continuously.  For additional information, call 580-442- 6346.

CULTURE CONNECTION GROUP - The Culture Connection is  specially designed for our military multi-cultural family members.  We want to welcome our foreign-born spouses, and embrace them into our community.  Get to know and adjust to our community in the company of others that can relate to your needs. The Culture Connection Group meets once a month to discuss issues related to the military culture, plan activities, and mostly to make new friends to make our stay in Fort Sill an enjoyable experience.  For additiona information call 580-442-5018/6801.
  
CHILD AND YOUTH ACTIVITIES:  

You can find active chapters of Boy Scouts (6th grade through age 17), (580) 357-3633, Cub Scouts, (1st - 5th grade), (580) 357-3633,  and Girl Scouts, (1st grade through age 17), (580) 355-2497.  Camps are held each year on the installation.  Both Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts accept children with special needs.

Youth Services, (580) 442-6745,  sponsors a Pre-Teen Council, instrumental in planning social and leisure programs for youths in grades 7-12.  Meetings are conducted on Saturdays each month at the Youth Center in building 1721- across from the Commissary on Grubber Road.

Children in age group 6-12 whose parents work are eligible to enroll in the school-age before/after school program.  These youths have access to the pre-teen game room, where there are pool tables, foosball, and other popular games available, 580-442-2844, or DSN 639-2884, building 6599 Lucas.

The recreation and sports programs are sponsored by the Lawton Parks and Recreation Program.  The sports include soccer, football, basketball, baseball, girl's softball, coach pitch, and t-ball.  To register for these programs, call the Lawton Parks and Recreation Program, (580) 581-3400. These programs are not available to children with special needs.  Each school has its own sports program.  Call the school your child will be attending to find out what sports are available.

Camp Cowabunga -  The Exceptional Family Member Program at Fort sponsors a camp for children with special needs in grades 1-12.  Held at least twice a year, it is open to family members of active duty, retirees, reserve and national guard, and DOD civilians working on Fort Sill on a space available basis. Basketball Camp - Offered every summer for youth entering grades 3-9 by Fort Sill Youth Services, phone number 580-442-2844.  You will receive instruction and practice in dribbling, shooting, and passing.  A $25 program fee is required.

Summer Day Camp - Fort Sill Youth Services sponsors the ongoing camp through August.  The camp is for children grades kindergarten through six.  Cost is $55-$65 per week.  Activities include swimming, bowling, arts and crafts, computers, field trips, and more.  Call (580) 442-2844 for more information.

YMCA - "Infinite Bounds," a program where young adults from age 12-16, schedule their own activities within set parameters.  For more information, call (580) 355-9622.

YMCA -  "Midnight Madness," a summer basketball night league, is available for teens 16-20 years of age.  This enrichment program is free.  For registration information, call (580) 355-9622.

Lawton Public Schools offer over 155 separate enrichment programs throughout the summer.  Tuition is different for each of the courses. For more information, call

RELIGIOUS ACTIVITIES:
The Unit Ministry Teams of Fort Sill are at your service.  Please join us as we gather to worship God and seek God's help for all that we do.  PLEASE NOTE:  To serve the religious needs of the Fort Sill Community, worship opportunities change occasionally.  For additional information, please contact the Installation Chaplain's Office, 442-3302 / 3319.  

Marriage 101 -- is an interactive program that primarily focuses on couples who are preparing for marriage but will also benefit married couples who desire to work on their communication skills and the health of their marriage.  Lunch will be provided.  For more information on "Marriage 101" please contact the Family Life Chaplain, 442-5003.
