San Antonio is the place to shop when you are looking for that
something special. Besides a multitude of specialty stores scattered
throughout the city, there are ten major malls that provide not only just about
anything you would need, but food, entertainment and more. There are
more malls under construction.
San Antonio malls feature unique shops,
food, movies and other seasonal activities. In addition to the malls,
there are two factory outlets near by San Antonio. You will have the
opportunity to shop until you drop!!
CITY and STATE SALES TAX:
Neither
the State of Texas nor the City of San Antonio levies a personal income
tax. However, the state assesses a 6.25 percent retail sales tax,
from which food and drugs are excluded. San Antonio uses its option
to levy additional 1.625 percent local sales tax, which includes funding for the
Metropolitan Transit Authority (.5 percent). The total city and state
sales tax rate is 7.875 percent.
