Spouse preference for Appropriated Fund Positions is afforded
only through the DOD Priority Placement Program. In order to be
eligible, the spouse must be already serving on an expected appointment overseas
or on a career or career-conditional appointment at the time the PCS orders are
issued. The Spouse must be placed on leave without pay or be
separated from their appointment due to PCS in order to receive spouse
preference priority placement consideration.
