To register a vehicle in the State of Alabama, there are several
Vehicle Tag Registration Offices in the area, depending on where you reside. Use
these offices to register your automobile, motorcycle, boat or
trailer. If you have an out of state title, we must SEE the
vehicle. If vehicle has a lien, you will need to have overseas
registration papers, copy of the title from the lienholder including the account
number, date of the lien, mailing address of the lienholder, vehicle shipping
papers, driver's license or an Alabama picture ID card and must have insurance
before we can register the vehicle. The individuals on the title must
be present or spouse must bring Power of Attorney and EPA papers for CATALYTIC
converters, if applicable. If you own the vehicle, you need to have
the overseas registration papers, vehicle title, lienholder release statement,
must bring vehicle to courthouse for inspection, vehicle shipping papers,
driver's license or Alabama picture ID Card, individuals on the title must be
present or spouse must bring Power of Attorney and EPA papers for CATALYTIC
converters, if applicable. Vehicle must be registered at the
courthouse in the county you are living in within 30 days. ANYONE WHO
REGISTERS A VEHICLE MUST SHOW PROOF ON VEHICLE INSURANCE.
