Assistance in locating employment on the
installation and in the surrounding communities can be obtained by
contacting the Army Community Service Employment Readiness Program located in
the Soldier Service Center, Building 5700, Novosel Street, Room 390 or by
calling (334) 255-3949. Hours of operation are Monday - Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:15
PM. Additional services provided by ERP include: resume, cover letter and
application assistance; job skills training and personal development
workshops; career counseling; teen employment program; comprehensive employment
resource library with videos and books available for checkout; and a
computer/typing area for resume preparation.
Service members separating
or retiring from the military and their family members can receive job search
assistance from the Army Career and Alumni Program (ACAP) by calling (334)
255-2546. ACAP is located in the Soldier Service Center, Building
5700, Novosel Street, Room 280. Separating and retiring service
members can also access the ACAP Home Page using the web site address listed
below.The majority of employment opportunities available to Fort Rucker family
members can be found in four southeast Alabama cities: Enterprise, Daleville,
Ozark and Dothan.
Jobs are readily available in retail sales and food
services. While the major shopping mall is located is Dothan, many
smaller shopping centers and specialty shops are located in Enterprise,
Daleville, and Ozark. Lowe's and Wal-Mart offer retail employment
opportunities in Enterprise and Dothan.
The larger manufacturing
companies are located in Dothan; however, several smaller companies are located
in Enterprise, Ozark, and Daleville. Some of the largest employers in the Fort
Rucker area include Southeast Alabama Medical Center, Flowers Hospital, Sony
Magnetic Products, Perdue Farms, Michelin Tire, Pemco World Air Service, Aladan,
General Electric, Ansell, Twitchell, Alfab, ConAgra, Pridecraft, Southland
Foods, and Frit Industries.
