FAP offers a variety of programs, activities, and services that
focus on helping families find positive ways to build family
strength. Programs, activities, and services
include: Expectant Parents Workshops and Hospital Orientation Tours,
Baby Bundles, Story Time, Parents as Teachers, a variety of Parenting Workshops;
Parent/Child Groups for ages Birth-4 years, Anger and Stress Management
Workshops, Crisis Intervention, Respite Child Care, and Information and
Referrals.
FAP's Mission/Objectives include prevention of child and
spouse abuse, encouraging reporting of child and spouse abuse, ensuring prompt
assessment and investigation, protecting victims of abuse, and treating all
family members involved in abuse.
One of the Family Advocacy Program's
Main Goals: To build community support for prevention as well as to provide for
quick and effective intervention when abuse occurs - a " Community Partnership"
provides the means.
