High School has been continuously accredited by the North Central Accreditation
since 1906. JCHS is a Talent Development High School organized into
Career Academies. All ninth grade students are enrolled in the
Freshman Success Academy. Students in Grades 10-12 select one of the
following academies based upon their future career interests:
Business
Information Technology;
Fine Arts & Human Services Academy
Science,
Engineering & Technology.
The school operates on a
modified, eight-block schedule. JCHS has a tradition of excellence in
athletic programs that include football, basketball, wrestling, volleyball,
tennis, golf, swimming, track, cross country, baseball, softball and
soccer. It also offers interscholastic competition in debate,
forensics, Scholar's Bow, vocal and instrumental music. The school also offers a
variety of clubs and organizations including National Honor
Society.
Volunteer Requirement: Junction City High School
students must complete 35 hours (or nine hours per year enrolled at JCHS) of
service learning over a four-year period, in order to meet graduation
requirements.

Manhattan-Ogden Unified School District

Manhattan High School students have a strong tradition of excellent
performance on the ACT/SAT.
Manhattan High School is comprised of two
campuses - the East Campus serves 9th grade and the West Campus serves students
in 10th through 12th grades.
Manhattan High School is fully accredited by
the Kansas State Department of Education and the North Central Association of
Colleges and Schools.
USD 383 Food Service provides a breakfast and lunch
program available to all USD 383 students. Meal pattern breakfasts and lunches
are served to meet USDA guidelines. Free and reduced price meal information and
guidelines are available at your assigned school.
Many USD 383 schools
offer before/after school child care programs or clubs/activities. The times and
fees associated with each program vary among buildings.
Manhattan High
School students are officially ranked at the end of each semester. Manhattan
High School ranks the student on his/her unweighted and weighted rank. A student
can earn an additional .03 credit for each 1/2 credit by taking Advanced
Placement, Comprehensive Studies or college courses.
Our schools offer a
wide variety of activities for students. From after school clubs (choir,
computer, sports) in the elementary schools to the over 50 co-curricular or
extracurricular clubs and sports offered at Manhattan High School, there is sure
to be something for every student.
USD 383 does offer a summer school
program for students K-12. The 7-12 program offers classes in English review,
math review and reading improvement, along with driver's education. Free
breakfast, lunch and transportation are provided to all summer school students.
