The Army's New Parent Support Program offers support, assistance,
education and counseling to military families who are expecting a child or have
children from birth to six years of age. A variety of services
including home visits, support groups, developmental play groups and parenting
activities and/or classes are available at no cost to service members and their
dependents.
The New Parent Support Program is a professional team of
social workers who provide supportive services to families to promote healthy
family interactions and early intervention services to parents. This
voluntary participation program was developed to assist military families with
the challenges of stress, isolation, deployments and the everyday demands of
parenthood in a military lifestyle.
