The Family Advocacy Program's (FAP) mission is to prevent spouse
and child abuse/neglect. The program is designed to break the cycle
of violence in families, which are experiencing abuse between spouses or between
parent and child. We provide commanders and other leaders with staff
assistance that addresses the issue of spouse and child abuse and/or
neglect.
FAP provides information and education to the military community
about spouse and child abuse issues and develops prevention strategies for abuse
or neglect. FAP coordinates professional services to families at risk
for abuse, or in which abuse is actually occurring. This includes
providing a protection system for abused or neglected victims. To
