(317)384-1508There are employment opportunities for preteens and teens that are
fifth grade and above through the Youth Services, RENT-A YOUTH
program. This program teaches youth how to become an independent
contractor that performs a variety of odd jobs such as landscaping, domestic
technicians, household maintenance etc. A job board is maintained in the Youth
Services Center with job requests from community residents. It is the
youth's responsibility to contact perspective job sites, negotiate pay, and
performance requirements. This program does not provide childcare certification
for youth. Contact CDS for information on certification
programs.
Off Post Employment: Anchorage Bowl employment
opportunities are typical of any large American city and include many food
service or customer service related positions. The unemployment rate remains low
at approximately 4%.Child Development Services located in building 337, offers

CareThere are many programs available to teens at the Youth Center. A computer
lab as well as tutors are available. Resume writing and job placement are
encouraged. There is always a need for teen volunteers on every
installation.
