Louisiana and local police will normally issue
safety belt citations PER CAR, while MP'S WILL ISSUE SAFETY BELT CITATIONS PER
OCCUPANT. Children under the age of 6 MAY NOT RIDE IN THE OPEN BEDS
OF PICKUP TRUCKS or UTILITY TRAILERS EXCEPT WHEN AN EMERGENCY NECESSITATES THE
ACTION AND MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY AN ADULT.
EXCEPTIONS: PARTICIPATION IN PARADE/FESTIVAL EVENT IF
ACCOMPANIED BY A RESPONSIBLE ADULT.
STATE VEHICLE
REGISTRATION: Liability insurance is a requirement in the state of
Louisiana, 10/20/10. Current inspection stickers are a must, unless your vehicle
is registered in a state not requiring an inspection sticker (cost of an
inspection sticker is $10.00). Louisiana license plates on an average
will cost $15.00 - $45.00, depending on the type of vehicle you own or
operate. Each applicant must present 1) certification that he or she
has current minimum amounts of public liability insurance for bodily injury and
property damage for the State of Louisiana; 2) the vehicle registration slip and
State inspection sticker if required by licensing State; 3) valid drivers
license and plate; 4) motorcycle Defensive Driving cards must accompany
motorcycle registration applicants. If the vehicle is not in your
name, you must have a notarized letter from the registered owner allowing you to
operate the vehicle on/off post. A USAEUR license is valid for 30
days in Louisiana.
Louisiana driver's license may be obtained from the
Louisiana State Department of Public Safety and Corrections, Dept of Motor
Vehicles office, located in Leesville, La, at 1104 South Third (3rd) Street,

Chauffeur's - $33; BOTH ARE FOR 4 YEARS. CDL, CLASS A - must be obtained in
Alexandria, LA.
