Youth Services and Army Community Service provide sponsorship and
information for youth and families.Army Community Service Employment Readiness
Program offers job search assistance to teens eligible to work and conducts
workshops in coordination with Youth Services. ERP coordinates a 6
week Summer Youth Volunteer Program for eligible teens volunteering on Fort
Monmouth.Fort Monmouth Youth Services is located in the Charles Wood housing
area at 2566 Laboratory Road. The following programs and activities
in the four service areas are: Leisure: Recreation & Arts, Sports
& Fitness, Lifeskills: Leadership & Citizenship, Mentoring and
Intervention & Support services.
Eligible users include youth in
grades 1 to 12 who are family members of Active duty or Retired military, DoD
Civilian Employees and Contractors working on Fort Monmouth. Youth
services registration is required for all programs. Cost is $20 per
family.

RECREATION
Open recreation is available for 11 to 18 year olds. Hours
are:
-Monday-Fri 2:30pm to 8:30pm
-Sat 12:30pm to 8:30pm
An afternoon
snack is served on school days. Special activities are planned for each day. The
computer lab and homework lab are also available. Open recreation is free of
charge.
*LEADERSHIP ACTIVITIES
Youth are encouraged to participate and
assume leadership roles in their programs. The Teen Council/Keysotne Club for
teens and Pre-teen/Torch Club for younger members meet on a regualr basis to
plan activities, provide community services and also for special programs such
as Workforce Preparation, Violence Prevention, Substance Abuse Training,
Sponsorship etc. Our youth participate in programs such as Army Teen Discovery,
and Boys and Girls Club leadership programs.
*SOCIAL EVENTS
Social
events are offered throughout the year. These are generally offered at cost.
Events are planned for different age groups as well as family events. Social
programs include dances, lock-ins, and holiday parties,trips to museums,
sporting events,etc.Sometimes being a teen can be a little overwhelming all by
itself but it doesn't have to be scary. This is a time in
a young person's life that is filled with much excitement, joy, anticipation and
plenty to do. High School offers all this rolled into
one. Along with important academic topics, high school also offers a
young man or woman an opportunity to prepare himself/herself for all aspects of
adulthood. From preparing for Freshman Orientation (sort of like a
job interview) to getting ready for the Senior Prom (first date
maybe???). These are activities that make going to high school
interesting and fun!!!
MONMOUTH REGIONAL HIGH SCHOOL presents a myriad of
challenges and opportunities to both the beginning and seasoned
students. You are encouraged to contact supervisors, guidance
counselors or administrators to answer any additional questions that you might
have. You will have the opportunity to meet with the guidance counselor, along
with your parents and teachers to develop a program of required courses need for
graduation.
STUDENT ACTIVITIES PROGRAM
The student Activity Program at
Monmouth Regional High School is designed to give students an opportunity to
meet the challenges of change and develop self-discipline. The
program involves converting student energy, ideas and thoughts into realistic,
positive steps and solutions. The general purpose of student
activities is to improve school life and give service to the
community. This is a list of some of the current clubs and activities
at Monmouth Regional:
Band, Latin Club, Art Club, Marching Band, Chess
Team, Math Club, Computer Club, Physics Club, Congressional Awards, National
Honor Society, Forensic Club, Ski Club, Future Business Leaders of America,
Video Club, Jazz Club, Twirling/Color Guard
As well as thirty other clubs
and activities not listed. There is also a very extensive Athletic
Program, which includes such sports as football, soccer, tennis, wrestling,
softball, baseball, cheerleading and track and field. There are a
total of eighteen different sports offered. In order to be eligible
to participate in the program, students must meet certain
requirements. Freshmen are automatically
eligible. Students must be passing a minimum number of credits to
participate.
DRESS CODE: ALL clothing must be in good taste, as decided
by the administration, and not distract or interfere in any way with the
educational process. In other words, dress the way your parents would
want you to dress.. No tank tops, no clothing that promotes sex, drugs, alcohol,
tobacco or graphic and /or obscene slogans or pictures, no short skirts and
shorts (arms length or longer), no bagging pants (pants must be worn above
hips), no sunglasses or goggles visible on any part of the body and no wallet or
pocket chains. Students will be sent home to correct dress code
infractions and will be disciplined (in trouble with your parents and the
staff). So make it simple on yourself and dress the way mom and dad
would like to see you dressed, OH and the staff of MONMOUTH REGIONAL.
Set
all the restrictions aside, MONMOUTH REGIONAL HIGH SCHOOL should be a pleasant
and exciting experience. Join a few clubs, play some sports and oh
yes, choose some challenging academic courses to enhance your knowledge and
enjoy one of the best times of your life. You only get one chance to
go through high school so make it the best and most memorable that you
