Many recreation opportunities are available on Fort
McPherson. If you like to play golf, Fort McPherson has one of the
finest 18 hole golf courses. If you enjoy bowling, Fort McPherson has
an eight lane bowling center complete with electronic scoring, snack bar and pro
shop. If your hobby is tinkering with your car, the Automotive Crafts
Shop is the place for you. The Fort McPherson Library offers
materials in all subject fields in support of mission; morale, welfare and
recreation; and education/training programs. The Library System
provides books, magazines, video cassettes, newspapers, cassettes, microfilm,
interlibrary loan service, official publications and regulations, on-line
terminal searches, and ordering of documents from the Defense Technical
Information Center.
There are two tennis courts on Fort McPherson and two
tennis courts on Fort Gillem. Fort McPherson is proud of having a
complete Morale, Welfare and Recreation Program. There are a variety
of exciting leisure activities available to active duty military members, their
family members, in addition to DoD civilians working on
post. Everyone is encouraged to be part of the fun and adventure by
participating in organized sporting events, aquatics, outdoor recreation,
entertainment, crafts, and many other high energy and enriching
programs.

The office of the Garrison
Chaplain is located in Building 51 at Fort McPherson. An
administrative office and three chapels provide comprehensive religious support
to soldiers and their families, including pastoral rites, ceremonies,
sacraments, ordinances, worship, educational opportunities and pastoral
counseling.
Fort McPherson has a Youth Development Program which
includes a Teen Council, Fundraising, Youth Sponsorship, and Field
Trips. However, there are limited child and teen services on Fort
McPherson and Fort Gillem. Children are encouraged to participate in
