SCHOOL-AGE SERVICES provides the following programs:

accredited by the National School Age Care Alliance.
Our AFTER-SCHOOL
PROGRAM is for youth in grades K-5. The School-Age Services shuttle
bus goes in to the nearby communities of Tomah and Sparta and picks kids up at
1500 each day. Youth are then transported back to the installation
for study time and open recreation options. Parents pick youth up no
later than 1730 hours from the School Age program. This program also
operates during school holidays, in-service activities, non-school days and
unexpected closures due to weather conditions, etc. Parents must
provide transportation to and from School Age Services when utilizing this
program on non-school days. Hours of operation are
0630-1730.
Our SUMMER PROGRAM is approximately 13 weeks long and runs
from June through August. Youth are divided into two different grade
groups to meet their physical and cognitive needs. These groups include:
kindergarteners (must have completed kindergarten) through third grade; and
fourth and fifth grade. Activities include swim lessons, computer
instruction, baseball and girls' softball and weekly field
trips. Operation hours are from 0630-1730 Monday through
Friday. Closed all Federal Holidays. Parents provide all
transportation to and from program.
In the MIDDLE SCHOOL/TEEN PROGRAM, a
partnership has been developed with the Boys & Girls Clubs of America in
both Sparta and Tomah to provide services to the Fort McCoy Middle School/Teen
population.
The role of the SCHOOL LIAISON OFFICER is as follows:

Serves as the primary point of contact for school-related matters
2)
Represents, informs, and assists Command
3) Assists military families with
school issues
4) Coordinates with local school systems
5) Forges
partnerships between the military and schools
