MISSOURI DRIVERS LICENSING
WHO MUST HAVE A MISSOURI DRIVER
LICENSE?
You are required to have a Missouri driver license if:
*You
live in Missouri, are 16 years of age or older, and plan to drive
*You are a
new resident of Missouri and want to drive, even if you have a driver license
from another state
*You are an out-of-state commercial driver who has moved
to Missouri within the last 30 days
YOU DO NOT NEED A MISSOURI DRIVER
LICENSE IF:
*You are a member of the Armed Forces and you have a valid
license from your home state
*You are a full-time student, and you have a
valid license from your home state
*You operate or temporarily operate or
move any farm tractor or implement on a highway for agricultural related
purposes
FEES:
*Driver
License: $10.00 for 3 years or $20.00 for 6
years
*For Hire License: $15.00 for 3
years or $35.00 for 6 years
*Motorcycle
Only License: $10.00 for 3 years or $20.00 for 6
years
*No driver License/ID Card: $11.00
for 6 years
*Duplicates
$12.50
DRIVER EXAMINATION:
*A written test on traffic laws
and rules for safe driving
*A vision test
*A road sign test
*A driving
test
YOU MUST TAKE THE DRIVER EXAM IF:
*You apply for a new
Missouri driver license
*Your Missouri driver license is expired for more
than 6 months
*The Director of Revenue requires it even if license is
current
*Your license was revoked
NEW MISSOURI DRIVERS
LICENSE/PERMIT:
*Two forms of proof of identity
*One form of proof of
social security number (SSN)
*Test papers indicate successful completion of
tests
NEW MISSOURI RESIDENT:
*Two forms of proof of
identity
*One form of proof of SSN
*Test papers indicate successful
completion of tests
RENEWAL/DUPLICATE:
*MO driver
license/permit or two forms of proof of identification
To
register a vehicle from out of state, please bring the
following:
*Vehicle title and registration
*Bank name and mailing
address of lien holder
*Missouri safety inspection
*Proof of
insurance
*EOM LES (current from past 3 months) if not a Missouri
