Vehicle Registration.
Vehicle registration is required in
the State of Kansas. Vehicle registration is accomplished at the
Leavenworth County Court House located at 4th and Walnut Street in the City of
Leavenworth.
Personnel returning with vehicles from overseas
assignments have 45 days from the day the vehicle reaches the port of entry to
get the vehicle titled and properly registed in one of the 50 United States.
Display of overseas plates on vehicles after the vehicle has been in the USA for
45 days is illegal.
Kansas Registration.
To register and license a
vehicle in the State of Kansas, the following procedures should be followed:
(1) Non-Kansas residents obtain a tax exempt affidavit from the SJA, Bldg
224, or in Bell Hall, Room 150.
(2) Obtain a Vehicle Identification Number
(VIN) verification slip from the Kansas Department of Transportation located at
2401 Spruce Street. Have your title and any previous registration forms with
you. Inspections are Tuesday and Thursday from 0830 to
1200. Inspection cost is $10.00 and must be paid in cash.
(3)Go to
County Court House located at 4th and Walnut. Take your tax affidavit, military
ID card, vehicle title and/or previous registration, and proof of insurance. For

Kansas Driver's License.
A Kansas State Drivers License is not required for registering your vehicle
in the State of Kansas. However, if you wish to obtain a Kansas drivers license,
you may apply for one at the Drivers License Examiner's Office at 113 Delaware
