ROUTINE CARE: Munson Army Health Center has a same day appointments system for all patients. This means on the day you need an appointment, you call the TriCare Appointment line. Once you have changed your portability to this region and you have been given a primary care manager, you can make a same day appointment on the Munson website. The appointments for that day will open up at 0001 hours. Family practice physicians at Munson Army Health Center provide routine obstetrical care, with delivery in a local faciliy. Munson Army Health Center's obstetrician provides high-risk pregnancy care, with delivery in a local facility. Obstetrical care can also be obtained in the civilian community.
URGENT CARE: Munson Army Health Center DOES NOT have an emergency room or a walk-in clinic. For minor emergencies, that occur after the clinic closes or on Sunday, contact the on call physician at (913) 684-6000. If directed to the emergency room, there are two local civilian hospitals that have 24 hour staffed emergency rooms; they are Cushing Memorial Hospital and St. John's Hospital. For emergency treatment active duty soliders should use the Dwight D. Eisenhower Veterans Administration Medical Center Emergency Room.
EMERGENCY CARE: In a major emergency, any condition that threatens loss of eyesight, limb or life, call 911 without hesitation. If you do seek urgent or emergent care in the civilian sector it is important that you contact your primary care physician within 24 hours, so that proper authorization can be put in the system to facilitate payment of the bill. Get in touch with your primary care physician the first duty day after your emergency room visit so that the paperwork can be taken care of.
