Eligible patrons for the
Army Child Development Services programs include active duty military, DoD
civilians (NAF and APF), Reservist and National Guard on active duty, and DoD
contract employees. SPS staff offers resource and referral counseling for center
and home-based Fort Leavenworth programs as well as providing information on
off-post licensed programs. Mandatory information for registration
includes: local addresses and phone numbers, current immunization records, and a
local emergency designee other than spouse or sponsor. Additional
information required for registration includes a physical exam within 30 days
and Family Care information required for all single patrons and dual military
patrons. When enrolling in a full day or part-day program, patrons
are required to present a current LES for both parents to verify total family
income. The Central Registry phone number is 684-5135. Child
Development also provides recruiting and training for Parent Education, Teenage
Babysitting and Referral Services, Short Term Alternative Child Care, and
community assistance for Parent Co-ops. Child Development Center/Full
Day, Part-Day, Hourly Full Day Care: CDC operates a total child enrichment
program for children 6 weeks through age 5. Hours of operation are
0600-1745 Monday through Friday. Costs are based on a total family
income. Part-day Preschool: this program is designed to meet the developing
needs of children 3-5. Three-hour sessions are offered 2 and 3 days per
week. Hourly Care: this program is offered for children ages 6 weeks
to kindergarten. Reservations for hourly care may be made up to 6 months in
advance by calling (913) 684-9351 or DSN 552-9351. Walk-ins will be
accepted on a space available basis. Hours of operation are 0800-1600 Monday
through Friday. PCC Students who will be attending the course may
call (913) 684-5135 or DSN 552-5135. School Age Service (SAS) program
is for before and after school care for children who attend the post schools.

through the Youth Center, they have a before and after-school program. The SAS
program is divided up into the three elementary post schools. Ages
6-12 includes summer camp, computer and homework centers staffed with teachers
and the latest educational software. Fee information upon request.
