There is no commercial transportation on or off post, other than
the Louisville Area, except cab service. There is a Greyhound Bus
Stop located in Radcliff about 5 miles from Fort Knox that leaves daily at 11:45
a.m. for the airport. Carpooling to and from work is encouraged.
There is no shuttle service to and from the Louisville International Airport,
however Fort Knox has a contract with Dixie Taxi Service and they will pick up
at the airport when called and bring you to Fort Knox for $35.00 per person;
more than one person is $20 each; one way. The Dixie taxi charge $2.50 to
transport anywhere on the installation. For local travel, it's best that you
have a vehicle because taxi service as primary mode of transportation may become
very expensive.
