The Fort Knox Community Schools provide full educational benefits for disabled children from ages three through 21.  The system offers special programs for students with a wide range of disabling conditions, including mental handicaps, emotional disturbances, learning disabilities, and developmental delays.

All schools operate on one calendar.  The calendar has four instructional quarters separated by one or two week breaks.  The summer break is nine weeks.  Key dates in the 2005-2006 school year calendar are as follows:

First Day of School is 1 Aug
Fall Break is 3-7 Oct
Winter Break is 21 Dec - 3 Jan
Spring Break is 27-31 Mar
Last Day of School is 26 May
Summer Break is 29 May - 31 July

For additional information about the Fort Knox schools' Special Education program, call the Director of Student Services at 502-624-2345.
