The philosophy of Fort Knox Child & Youth Services (CYS) is to nurture the child through care, understanding, love and affection.  CYS is concerned with the child's development to his or her full potential.  This includes the intellectual, physical, social and emotional growth of each individual child.  You may not leave your child in a CYS program without first registering your child there.  You must have an appointment for registration and there may be a wait of a week to 10 days for a registration appointment.  If you are planning to leave your child there during your settling in (unpacking, etc.) that can cause problems.  You may want to call ahead to schedule the registration appointment.  The registration number is (502)624-6703 or DSN 464-6703.

There is the before and after school program called School Age Services, SAS, through Child and Youth Services (CYS).  SAS offers before and after school care for traditional and year-round children 6 to 10 years of age.  Also included in this program is a computer lab, a homework center and neighborhood activity homes.  This converts to full day care during vacations and breaks.
