Non-Appropriated Fund Positions (NAF):
Recruitment for
Non-Appropriated Fund positions is accomplished by the NAF Division of the
Civilian Personnel Advisory Center at Fort Jackson. Information regarding NAF
positions can be obtained from the NAF Employment Information Office, located in
the Strom Thurmond Bldg, 5450 Strom Thurmond Blvd. -
Room 227; M-F 0900-1600. PH: (803)-751 (DSN 734-)-4259.
Spouse
preference for Appropriated Fund positions is afforded only through the DOD
Priority Placement Program. In order to be eligible, the spouse must be already
serving on an excepted appointment overseas or on a career or career-conditional
appointment at the time the PCS orders are issued. The spouse must be placed on
leave without pay or be separated from his/her appointment due to a PCS in order
to receive spouse preference priority placement consideration. Registration for
departing spouses may be accomplished 30 days prior to sponsor's reporting date
at the new duty station.
Family members can use spouse preference when
applying for jobs at AAFES.
