Spouse preference for appropriated fund positions is afforded
only through the DoD Priority Placement Program. In order to be
eligible, the spouse must be serving on an excepted appointment overseas or on a
career or career-conditional appointment at the time the PCS orders are issued.
The spouse must be placed on leave without pay or be separated from their
appointment due to PCS in order to receive spouse preference priority placement
consideration. Registration for departing spouses may be accomplished
30 days prior to sponsor's reporting date at the new duty station. An
appointment for registration may be obtained by calling the Civilian Personnel
Advisory Center at (520) 533-5341.
Family members can receive spousal
preference when applying for Jobs at AAFES. To use spousal
preference, present your Social Security Card and valid Military ID Card with a
completed application.Fort Huachuca is, by far, the largest employer in the
area, with over 12,000 military and civilian employees. Appropriated
fund jobs at Fort Huachuca are available, although not
plentiful. There are good opportunities for some non-appropriated
fund (NAF) jobs. For information on how to apply for appropiated fund
positions and a listing of jobs for which Fort Huachuca is accepting resumes,
visit the Western Civilian Personnel Operations Center (WCPOC) website. For
information on non-appropriated fund jobs, call the NAF Personnel Office at
(520) 533-5453. Employment information for both appropriated fund and
non-appropriated fund positions is also available at the Fort Huachuca Army
Career and Alumni Program (ACAP) Center building 22420, (520) 533-7314.
