The Army Family Advocacy Program(FAP) at Fort Gordon works with the social workers and OBGYN staff at the Medical College of Georgia Hospital, where military families deliver newborns.  After delivery each family receives a letter from FAP.  Arrangements are made for home visits as requested by MCG and EAMC staff.

Parenting classes are offered on a regular basis.

New Parent Support Program (NPSP)

The New Parent Support Program supports families through a comprehensive combination of services offered before and after a child's birth.  The program includes:

Parenting Empowerment Program
Home Visits
Support Groups
Information & Referral to other Military and Civilian Resources
Baby Bundles
Playgroups
Grief support due to miscarriage
Free childcare during Parenting Classes & Support Groups

Participation in any New Parent Support Program is Voluntary with Emphasis on Building Family Strengths.

Any active duty service member, active duty family members, as well as retirees, can participate in the NPSP
