Special Education is built on the belief that all students can and will learn. It is the school system's responsibility to provide appropriate learning experiences for all students, to recognize and understand the unique nature of each student, to promote the worth and dignity of each student, and to strive for the educational success of every student. See Anne Arundel County Special Education contact link.

As much as possible, instruction for students with disabilities will be provided in the same setting as instruction for students without disabilities.  Special education requirements and accommodations will be assessed upon the child's enrollment in their neighborhood school.

The School Liaison Officer and the Army Community Service Exceptional Family Member Program Manager should be contacted upon your arrival on Fort Meade. See contact/links.

TIPS, TIPS:

Prior to departing your present duty station, request a copy of complete educational records including  the Individual Education Plan (IEP) and HAND CARRY. - Meet with teacher and review progress that has been made since last IEP review/development. Ask for suggestions that may help you and the staff here at Fort Meade develop the next plan. Hand carry a 2 month supply of medication refills or supplies your child may need.
