The Fort George G. Meade (FGGM) Family Advocacy Program (FAP) is
dedicated to the prevention, prompt reporting, intervention, and providing
referral sources for treatment of child and spouse abuse. FAP plays a
significant role in establishing community support programs for families of

SEXUAL ASSAULT RESPONSE
PROGRAM
The Fort Meade Sexual Assault Response Coordinator (SARC)
provides victims of sexual assault a resource for immediate and ongoing
information and referral assistance, safety planning, and support
services. The SARC's primary role is to assist victims in regaining
control of their environment.
To meet this goal, the SARC assists victims in
clarifying choices regarding medical exams, treatment, investigative process,
interaction with his/her command, and additional support personnel they may wish
to see. The advocate also provides basic techniques of crisis
intervention, reinforcement of explanations, information for emotional, medical,
and legal follow-up as well as a "presence" during legal and judicial
proceedings.
