MORALE, WELFARE AND RECREATION (MWR)
The Morale, Welfare,
and Recreation (MWR) programs on Fort Dix are here to provide quality of life
services and activities for you and your family during your assignment at Fort
Dix. MWR serves active duty military personnel, retirees, family
members, DoD & NAF employees, Army and Air Force Exchange employees,
contract employees, and Federal Bureau of Prisons employees. (All
employees are not eligible for all Family Support Programs.)
MWR is
dedicated to providing diversified programs based on the needs and desires of
the community. MWR employees are dedicated to provide quality
customer service . Activities offered include Bowling, Swimming
(indoor and outdoor swimming pools) Miniature Golf (seasonal), Go-Carts
(seasonal), Batting Cages (seasonal), Arts & Crafts, Community Club,
Recreation Center and a Woodshop.
MWR also offers a wealth of
creative, supervised youth activities through the Child and Youth Services for
eligible family members between ages 5 and 19. The activities are designed to be
fun, promote physical fitness, and develop lifelong recreational
skills. As an added benefit, youth programs may also help young
people overcome the stress associated with relocating and adjusting to new
friends and peer groups at a new duty station. Sports include soccer,
baseball, T-ball, basketball, football, and cheerleading. The Youth
Center, Teen Center, and Youth Sports are responsible for programs and services
for the youth.
The Youth Center (YC) offers a full game room with stereo
and big screen TV and a computer lab for the enjoyment of all
elegible family members 11 years old and up. The YC also has full
size basketball court, dance and gymnastic area.
The Teen Center (TC)
offers special programs for 13 year olds and up. The TC is open
weekends only.
Youth Sports (YS) offers several seasonal
sports such as soccer, indoor soccer, baseball, football, basketball, softball
and cheerleading.
