| MILLS TROOP MEDICAL CLINIC (TMC) |
|
Mills Clinic personnel will care for all active duty
Soldiers assigned to Fort Dix with acute illnesses and injuries. Among the
symptoms that constitute an acute illness include but are not limited to:
* High fever * Nausea and vomiting * Flu symptoms * Skin rash * Insect
bites and bee stings * Chest pain Soldiers will be seen for anything that
falls under the category of a major illness or injury,. However, when it
comes to permanent party and base ops, soldiers are only permitted an
initial sick call. Once they have been seen for the acute ailment,
follow-up care is not done at MILLS TMC; they must contact TRICARE and the
305th to follow-up. They stabilize the patient and make them comfortable
until they can get to their TRICARE provider. They also offer Self Care.
Some of the conditions for which Soldiers can check into self-care
include: * Minor colds, headaches and coughs * Minor cuts, scrapes and
burns * Athlete's foot * Nasal congestion * Menstrual symptoms Make note
of certain medical problems for which Soldiers should not attend sick call
or self-care. For these problems, mobilizing and demobilizing Soldiers
should go to the Soldier Readiness Check (SRC) medical annex, building
5633, on Baltimore Street; permanent party Soldiers should contact their
TRICARE health care provider. These non-acute, non-emergency problems
include shaving profiles, medical prescription refills, birth control,
smoking cessation plans and follow-up blood work. The reason is that the
Mills TMC is a small clinic. They do not do only sick call. They are also
conducting physicals for mobilizing and demobilizing Soldiers. Hundreds of
troops move through the clinic every week. The Mills Troop Medical
Clinic's sick call and self-care hours are: Monday through Friday: 7 to
8:30 a.m.; Saturday and Sunday: 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. Soldiers with acute
symptoms or who have been injured can seek care at Mills anytime during
clinic hours. Operating hours for Mills Clinic are: Monday through Friday,
7 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday, 7:30 a.m. to noon Bldg: 5660 (609)
