EL PASO COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF HUMAN
SERVICES
Provides child welfare and social services to residents of El
Paso County. A full range of social service programs are offered,
including adult self-sufficiency, investigation of adult and child abuse, day
care licensing, work-incentive programs, foster care licensing, subsidized
adoptions, custody evaluations, child protective services, resolution of
parent/child conflicts, on-going foster care services, investigation of child
neglect complaints, assessment of need for protection against child abuse, and
provision of cash assistance, food stamps, and Medicaid.
CHILD ABUSE
PROGRAM
Provides child protection and works toward rehabilitation of
families; provides the legal mechanism by which the investigation of the abuse
and the disposition of any abused child is carried out; program includes
children, aged 0 to 18 years, who are abused, neglected, sexually exploited, or
whose life is endangered.
