LOCAL TRAFFIC: Newcomers to Fayetteville have a frequent complaint: Street names change often, and for no clear reason. And main routes to and from town can get congested at rush hour. The new Outer Loop is one effort to ease the problem as is the widening of Hope Mills and Cumberland roads. Installation of a new traffic signal system is also planned.   Cameras are positioned to catch drivers who run red lights at six intersections in Fayetteville. The cameras are at the intersections of Ramsey Street and Law Road, Ramsey Street and Par Road, Yadkin Road and Santa Fe Drive, Yadkin Road and Skibo Road, Ramsey Street and Martin Luther King Jr. Freeway, and Bragg Boulevard and Sycamore Dairy Road.

ROAD RULES: During a funeral procession, people driving in the opposite direction do not have to stop or slow down. But if they do stop to show respect, they must pull completely off the road. On a multi-lane road, people can pass the funeral procession, but they cannot cut between it. When a police car, fire truck, ambulance or any other emergency vehicle is traveling on a two-lane road with its siren on, drivers on both sides have to stop. On a multi-lane road, only vehicles driving in the same direction as the emergency vehicle need to stop and pull to the side.
