You are allowed to ship one privately owned vehicle at government expense to or from an overseas area when permitted (some overseas areas restrict shipment of POVs).  The entitlement to ship an otherwise eligible POV from overseas to the United States is not dependent on whether a POV was shipped to the overseas area.  The vehicle must be owned by the member or a dependent of the member (member must show proof of ownership/registration or lease agreement).

The Transportation Office has pamphlets which contain information about shipment of POV's.  POV's are picked up at the Dallas or New Orleans ports, and arrangements must be made directly with them.

To pick up your vehicle, ensure you have proper documentation showing ownership.  If you are picking up someone else's vehicle, proper Power of Attorney is required. If you are relocating overseas from Fort Bliss and are shipping your POV, please contact your Personnel Property Office at your current duty station for entitlement and restriction.
