The Army Community Service Family Advocacy Program offers classes
on managing personal and family issues in order to strengthen families, promote
family enrichment and create a safe community.
Services
Available:
RESPITE CARE:
Short term child care designed to provide
relief to parents who are temporarily unable to care for their children, based
upon financial need and emergency.
PARENT AIDE
PROGRAM:
Provides assistance to parents in strengthening
their parenting skills. Volunteers are trained to work with parents
of children ages 0-5, and 5 through teen years.
PARENT
EDUCATION:
Classes, newsletters, and packets of information
are designed to support and educate parents on child development and improve
parenting knowledge and skills.
SAFETY AWARENESS / SAFE CHILD
PROGRAM:
Prevention and education programs designed to teach
parents, children and those involved with youth about sexual abuse and child
molestation, physical abuse, emotional abuse, and neglect. Education
and resources are provided to help combat and eradicate abuse and violence in
relationships.
LIFE SKILLS CLASSES:
Classes are
offered on crisis intervention, stress management, and improving couples
communication are offered that are designed to ease daily living stress and
build healthy relationships.
FAMILY & HOME SAFETY
EDUCATION:
Classes discuss how to make your home environment
safe for children. This includes discussion topics like, but not limited to:
passenger safety, water safety, fire safety, and poison control.
