CHURCHILL COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT
The
school district provides services to over 4,300 students in seven schools that
are ALL located in Fallon, Nevada. Because of its growth over the past seven
years, (3.0+ percent annual growth) the district has two year-round elementary
schools and three traditional calendar elementary schools. The district also
includes one junior high and one high school. An early childhood program is
available for pre-school students considered at risk. With a staff of over 400
people, the school district continues to provide a high quality of education for
its students. The elementary students consistently score above the
national average on the Comprehensive Test of Basic Skills each year, while the
secondary students scores are constantly above the national and state averages
of the ACT and SAT college entrance examinations.
ALL SCHOOLS
UNDER TRADITIONAL SCHEDULE - With the traditional schedule, school begins in
late August and continues through to mid-June except for common holidays such as
Thanksgiving, Christmas, Federal and State holidays along with a weeklong spring
break usually in March. Children must be 5 years old on or before 30 September
of the year to start kindergarten. The classes are half day and the school
district runs two classes (AM and PM) per day.
