Spousal Preference
Spouses of
active duty Department of Defense military personnel who have been issued
Permanent Change of Station (PCS) orders requiring them to relocate to the Puget
Sound area are entitled to employment preference for appropriated and
non-appropriated fund positions. For appropriated fund positions,
this preference is restricted to spouses who are currently or formerly career
conditional employees or spouses eligible under Executive order 12362 (Overseas
Employment Program). Priority referral is applicable for positions at
or below the highest grade level held in the Federal Government. Spouses must
apply under a specific vacancy announcement provided to the Civilian Personnel
Office at the time of registration. For more information concerning
