Anchorage has an abundant variety of small shops (from homemade
crafts, antiques, etc.) and unique boutiques which makes for some interesting
shopping adventures.
Within the last few years larger discount and
specialty stores have moved into the Anchorage market e.g., Wal-Mart (2 stores),
Sportsman Warehouse, Computer City, Comp USA, Office Depot, Office Max, Borders
Books and Music, Barnes & Noble, Sports Authority, Home Depot, Lowes,
Sportsman Warehouse, Best Buy etc.
Anchorage has no sales tax.
