The Abused Women In Crisis (AWAIC)
AWAIC is the largest
domestic violence service provider in Anchorage and the state. They intervene in
the cycle of violence with safe shelter for women and their children, support
and advocacy for all family members, and community education. AWAIC provides
confidential individual and group support for women who have experienced
emotional, physical, and/or sexual abuse within their intimate or family
relationships.

A 24-hour
crisis line, (907) 272-0100, is an integral part of the shelter. Trained staff
answers calls and assist with crisis intervention, support, information and
referrals.
