There are two preschool/daycare centers in North Pole. One is a
typical preschool setting with extended day care hours and the other is a
Christian school which also provides extended daycare to families who need it.
The ages for pre-school are 3 and 4. Most pre-school fee's are between $185.00
to $345.00 per month. Pre-school is held only from September through May.
Pre-schools are licensed by the State of Alaska.
If you are looking in
the Fairbanks area which is 26 miles down the Richardson Highway, you will find
a variety of preschool options to include Montessori and Head Start
programs.
There are a few private schools which offer pre-school and head
start in Fairbanks and North Pole. The Head Start program in the local area are
for low income families with children between the ages of 3-5 years of age. Some
Head Start programs can accept some families who do not meet income guidelines
on a case by case basis.
