There are two preschool/daycare centers in North Pole. One is a typical preschool setting with extended day care hours and the other is a Christian school which also provides extended daycare to families who need it. The ages for pre-school are 3 and 4. Most pre-school fee's are between $185.00 to $345.00 per month. Pre-school is held only from September through May. Pre-schools are licensed by the State of Alaska.

If you are looking in the Fairbanks area which is 26 miles down the Richardson Highway, you will find a variety of preschool options to include Montessori and Head Start programs.

There are a few private schools which offer pre-school and head start in Fairbanks and North Pole. The Head Start program in the local area are for low income families with children between the ages of 3-5 years of age. Some Head Start programs can accept some families who do not meet income guidelines on a case by case basis.

See CONTACTS for websites of pre-schools and head starts.
