If you are planning to start a new family or expand the one you already have, plan to attend "Great Expectations".  Great Expectations is for parents-to-be and is open to all Air Force families during their second trimester of pregnancy, regardless of number of children or rank.  Classes are broken into two sessions and are held every month with both day and evening classes scheduled. Topics covered include: what to expect when you are expecting, breastfeeding, baby's cost bundles, parenting issues, couples issues and of course a question and answer period from the OB floor nurses. All participants receive a free bundle full of baby necessities purchased by the Air Force Aid Society. If you are expecting, this class is a MUST!! For more information contact the Family Support Center at 907-377-2178.
There are also a variety of classes to attend once your bundle of joy arrives. The Family Support Center offers, Boys Town Parenting, Home Alone Safety, Parenting at a distance, Balancing work and Family and several other programs. Call the Family Support Center to find out what is being offered.
