The mission of the Family Advocacy Program (FAP) is to support
Air Force readiness. The goal of the FAP is to promote family
readiness by enhancing the health, welfare, and morale of the Air Force
family. The family plays an integral role in the achievement of the
Air Force mission by having a direct impact on the service member's capacity to
perform his or her assigned duties.
It is Air Force Policy to minimize
the negative impact of and, where possible, prevent childhood handicaps and
family maltreatment and to identify, report, access and treat families having
exceptional needs, children who are at risk for injury, and families
experiencing family maltreatment. The FAP at Eglin AFB has components
designed to achieve this goal: Outreach, Special Needs Identification
Assessment Coordination Program (SNIACP), Family Maltreatment Intervention,
Family Nurse Specialist for first time parents and home base prevention
services.
