Deployment concerns are addressed within Family Readiness. They
provide information and programs on surviving deployment, hurricane preparation,
coping with change, evacuee repatriation, video phone calls and waiting spouse
"Hearts a Part" program. Pre/post deployment briefings are provided in groups
and individually as needed to support operations.
The Eglin Family Readiness
Program within the family Support Center provides both pre-deployment and post
deployment briefings and offers the "Hearts Apart" program for deployed military
members AND their families. Hearts apart offers morale calls from family member
to deployed spouse or family member if deployed member is single. The Family
Readiness program also maintains the lines of communication via free usage of
video telephones on loaner basis, e-mail newsletters. The spouse that remains
behind is also eligible for 2 free oil changes of the primary family vehicle (if
the member is deployed for 1 one year, otherwise one free oil change and free
vehicle safety inspection-all paid for by Air Force Aid).
Key elements
of the "HEARTS APART" Program:
