Eglin prides itself on having one of the most complete Services Squadron and Recreational Services in the Air Force.  A variety of exciting leisure activities are available to active duty military members, their family members, and DoD civilians.  Everyone is encouraged to be part of the fun and adventure by participating in organized sporting events, aquatics, outdoor recreation, entertainment, crafts and many other high energy and enriching programs.
The Eglin Aero Club is located in Bldg 898.  The Aero Club is a recreational activity established to allow its members the opportunity to learn about all aspects of flying and experience the thrills of aviation. Aero Club members can utilize the aircraft for flight training, recreational flying and/or official business.  The Club currently has fifteen aircraft.  The Aero Club is a Part 141 Flight School, FAA and VA approved.  Membership at the Aero Club is open to active duty and retired military, civilian personnel, base contractors and members of the Civil Air Patrol.
Contact the Airman & Family Readiness Center (850)882-9060 to learn about group memberships on base.  For instance, organizations such as Boy and Girl Scouts are very active on base. Also, the youth center staff and the school counselor are good resources for information regarding activities in sports and recreation. Please refer to the Youth Center contact/link on SITES for more information. You are moving to an area where the sugar-white sands and brilliant green waters are beautiful.  This is a vacation paradise and some people get to visit only once a year.  You are going to enjoy living around such beauty.  At any time, you can head for the beach and have your own happening!

Eglin's Outdoor Recreation offers year round outdoor fun in the sun. Boating safety and children's water safety programs, fishing classes, deep sea fishing, camping facilities and boat slips are just some of the programs. A rental facility offers a wide variety of camping and recreational equipment and a large fleet of rental boats.

Facilities include: Outdoor Adventure Center, two FamCamp sites, Postl Point Marina, two pools (East pool is heated and has all-weather cover), Ben's Lake Marina, Bear Creek Marina, a recreational vehicle storage lot, a

Programs include classes, seminars and special trips including ski trips, scenic tours, canoeing, parachuting and the annual cardboard boat regatta and swim with the manatees.

The staff at Outdoor Recreation will be glad to assist you in planning a great outdoor adventure for your group.
