When inprocessing, report to the orderly room at your new unit
between 0730-1630, Monday through Friday. The orderly room will
schedule your in-processing briefings/appointments.
Note: If you get
married before you PCS, you must inform your commander and follow the procedures
exactly as you are given them. The military will not pay for travel and housing
of your spouse if you do not follow proper procedures.
The Newcomers'
Orientation welcomes all military and civilian newcomers and their spouses to
Edwards AFB. It is usually every Monday at the Oasis Community Center
from 0720. Call 277-2276 for specific dates. No
babysitting is provided; however, check with the Relocation Assistance Manager
in the Family Support Center to see if you qualify for the Child Care for PCS
program. See MUST KNOW for more information.
Arrival and
check-in requirements:
Upon arrival to Edwards AFB (day or night, weekday
or weekend) report to the 24 hour arrival point located at the Edwards Lodging
Office (Bldg 5602) off Manzanita Way, in the base housing area. The
24 hour phone number for the Edwards Lodging Office is 277-3394/3302 or DSN
527-3394/3302. The clerk will assist you in contacting your sponsor,
set you up with temporary lodging, and give you a copy of the base
map.
In-Processing: Report to the orderly room at your new unit
between 7:30 a.m. & 4:30 p.m. Monday through
Friday. The orderly room will schedule your in-processing
briefings.
Important Documents to Hand Carry:
Copies of
orders, current banking statements, life insurance information, critical medical
information or records.
