Service members may receive authorization to have their vehicles shipped within the continental U.S. if they are assigned to a ship that is changing homeports, have insufficient travel time to drive to the new duty station (documented in writing by their commanding officer), or have a medical condition that is certified in writing by a doctor.  A family member of a deceased service member may receive authorization to have a vehicle shipped also.  Please contact the Personal Property Office for more information.

If you are shipping your vehicle overseas, please contact the personal property office immediately once you are in receipt of your orders.  The rules vary, depending on the country you are transfering to due to the Status of Forces Agreements with the host country.
