Transitional Assistance Department 978-665-8700 can provide information about
Food Stamps. To apply, you need to bring the following with
you: your social security cards including your
children's. The Food Stamp Office is allowed 30 days to process the
application; however, average waiting time is 2-3 weeks. At the time
of approval, an I.D. card and ATP (authorization to participate) will be issued
to you. It is recommended that you apply during your first fourteen
days of the month to obtain faster service. Only by applying can the
amount of eligibility be determined.
