Beginning with the Family Support Center, there are a number of
agencies that are standing by to assist you in your time of
need. Whether it is financial, natural disaster, or an unfortunate
death, the base is here to assist.
These contacts can get you started on
the road to recovery:
The Air Force Aid Society can assist with financial
needs by providing no interest loans or even grants for verifiable emergency
financial situations. The process is handled by the Family Support
Center through the unit First Sergeant.
The Red Cross can provide you
with emergency notification services for you and your family. They
can notify family members of disasters and can provide emergency services for
you and your family during disasters.
The Casualty Office assists with
all phases of death of the military member. They provide assistance
to the next-of-kin of deceased active duty and retired AF personnel in applying
for various AF benefits. They also act as a referral office for
social security and Veterans Administration benefits.
Mortuary Affairs is
responsible for all activities including search and rescue, identification,
arrangements, and transportation for the deceased personnel under the
jurisdiction of Davis-Monthan AFB.
