PIMA COMMUNITY COLLEGE
Pima County
Community College, which officially opened in the fall of 1970, is a 2-year
institution supported primarily by county taxes and state aid. The multi-campus
college district serves a population of 1,000,000 people residing within the
9,240 square miles of Pima County through five campuses and approximately 145
off-campus locations.
College credit programs include university
parallel or transfer studies representing the freshman and sophomore levels and
job-oriented technical-occupational studies of various lengths. Most of the
2-year study programs lead to an associate degree. Certificate programs can run
from one semester up to two years depending on the area of study.
The
College has an enrollment of approximately 30,000 full-time students enrolled in
credit course programs and another 60,000 in non-credit courses. Pima College
serves more than 90,000 students.
CHAPMAN UNIVERSITY
The mission of
Chapman University is to provide personalized education of distinction that

Chapman University is a 140 year old
institution which provides professional training and liberal arts educational
programs. The university is comprised of the Wilkenson College of Letters and
Sciences, the School of Business and Economics, the School of Communication
Arts, the School of Education, the School of Music, the School of Law and the
University College.
The undergraduate programs offered at Davis-Monthan
AFB encourages a balance between theoretical and applied studies and provide
numerous opportunities for students to relate their classroom learning to their
future careers through technical learning experiences.
The graduate
programs offered at Davis-Monthan AFB provide advanced study in specific
disciplines to broaden and deepen knowledge of the subject studied. In addition,
Chapman's master's degree programs give the student practical training and
skills for advancement in selected professional careers. Arizona teacher
certification programs are offered including elementary, secondary, special
education and school administration.
Chapman University is accredited by
and is a member of the Western Association of Schools and Colleges.
EMBRY RIDDLE AERONAUTICAL UNIVERSITY
A civilian, totally
aviation-oriented university. Embry-Riddle has expanded from its multi-million
dollar complex in Daytona Beach to include a western campus located in Prescott,
Arizona. Since 1970, Embry-Riddle has recognized that people who work in
civilian and military aviation and aerospace are highly motivated to seek
further college education and professional development. The College of Career
Education meets the higher education needs of these professionals through unique
methods of instructional delivery. In addition to the service members, most
resident centers at military installations are authorized to enroll civilian
government employees, dependents, and other local civilians. All resident
centers are approved for veterans' educational benefits and by state agencies.
The network of Education Services Centers has expanded to more than 110
locations worldwide, from Hawaii to Western Europe. Approximately 23,000
students participate in Embry-Riddle programs worldwide.
PARK
UNIVERSITY
Park University, established in 1875 as a Mid-West adventure in
Education, continues to be an institution of higher learning committed to the
pursuit of knowledge, to intellectual and social development, and to work and
service within a non-sectarian Christian setting. These roots, expressed in its
motto, "Fides et labor," remain the focus of the University's mission today. A
major aspect of the Park University mission is the military Resident Center
System, located on 36 military installations across the country, and offering
degree completion programs at the associate and baccalaureate levels. Park
University is accredited by national, regional, and state agencies. The North
Central Association of Colleges and Schools has officially approved the academic
standard of Park.
TROY STATE UNIVERSITY
Troy State University was
established in Troy, Alabama in 1887 and is one of three separately accredited
institutions that together form the Troy State University System. Under its
mission statement, the university is committed to providing adult education and
graduate education including selected education programs to the United States
military throughout the country and abroad. In addition to serving over 6,000
full-time students on its main campus, TSU currently offers undergraduate and
graduate programs at over 50 military installations in the Pacific, as well as
the United States, serving more than 6,000 students. All TSU degree programs,
whether offered on or off campus, are accredited by the Southern Association of
Colleges and Schools (SACS).
A new professional development center is
underway in the old base exchange complex. The site will include
education services with the colleges, familiy support center, and eventually the
library.
