of Hampton Roads. However there are many private pre-schools which can be
located using the Yellow Pages.
HeadStart Program:
The Headstart
program in Hampton Roads is administered by the STOP (Southeastern Opportunity
Project), Inc.
Eligibility requirements for Head Start:
*Child must
be age 3-5
*Must score between 120-140 points
*Written application
*Social Security Card
*Birth certificate
*Immunization
record
*Physical exam.
HeadStart program operates in Chesapeake,
Franklin, Norfolk, Portsmouth, Suffolk, Virginia Beach, and the counties of Isle
of Wight and Southampton
