In the past, the Navy's deployment cycle was fairly predictable-six months at sea and then several months in port.  The implementation of the Fleet Response Plan has changed the entire deployment cycle to allow the military to deploy its assets quickly to meet the changing world situation.

Years of experience and knowledge about the deployment process make it possible to design a series of informational programs and support services.
Over the years, FFSC has provided assistance in three stages of the deployment cycle:
Pre-Deployment
During the Deployment
Reunion and Homecoming

To meet the needs of the changing deployment cycles, FFSCs of Hampton Roads offers a two-hour course "Deployment Readiness Brief" on a monthly basis.  FFSC Oceana offers the program on the first Friday of each month from 0900-1100 and the third Wednesday, from 1830-2030.  This program allows the sailor and his/her family to have a continuum of readiness. For more information, contact the nearest FFSC.
