The Special Needs/EFM program is a mandatory program that works
with civilian agencies to provide comprehensive and coordinated medical,
educational, special accommodations, community support and services to families
with special needs.
Information for Special Needs/EFM can be acquired
through the Information and Referral Program or the EFMP Coordinator at the
Fleet and Family Support Center, the Naval Medical Clinic, Social Services,
county school systems and the Health Departments. See Health &

provide Special Needs/EFM community resources. Worldwide listings can

In partnership with people with
disabilities and their families, the Virginia Department of Rehabilitative
Services collaborates with the public and private sectors to provide and
advocate for the highest quality services that empower individuals with
disabilities to maximize their employment, independence and full inclusion into
society.
The Virginia Department of Education is also an excellent
source of information on special needs programs in the Virginia Department of
Education School systems.
The Virginia WIC Program
The Special
Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children is funded through
the U.S. Department of Agriculture and is operated through local health
departments and satellite and mobile clinics in Virginia. The King George County
Health Department is the local point of contact for the WIC
program.
